Classroom Expectations Contract

 

Teacher Directed Instruction:

1.   Refrain from talking.

2. Wait until I am finished to ask questions.

3. Stay seated at all times until directed.

Guided Practice:

1.   Talking to neighbor only for instructions or materials.

2. Stay focused and complete work.

3. You may get up to sharpen pencil and turn in work.

4. If you have a question, skip the problem and continue to work until I can help you.

Cooperative Groups:

1.   Talking is allowed in your group; refrain from wandering to other groups.

2. You are allowed to get materials for the activity.

3. You must keep your area clean and picked up.

4. All supplies are put back in their proper place.

Group Presentations:

1.   Refrain from talking.

2. Absolute undivided attention.

3. Stay seated until presentations are finished.

Independent Work:

1.   Refrain from talking.

2. You may get up to sharpen pencil and turn in work.

3. Raise your hand for any question.

Tests or Quizzes:

1.   Refrain from talking.

2. Sharpen pencil before starting test or quiz.

3. When you are done turn work over and then read or sleep.

4. Raise your hand for questions.

General Expectations:

  1.   All backpacks and purses must always be on the floor. No exceptions.

  2.   All electronic devices are strongly prohibited.

  3.   Cussing is not allowed and will result in disciplinary action.

4.   Students must always be prepared and ready to work.

5. Do not ask to go to the restroom the first 10 minutes or last 10 minutes of class.

6. Don’t ask to use the teacher’s computer.

7. Questions or concerns about your grade should be taken care of before or after school not during class.

8. Stay seated until dismissed.

9. No sleeping in class.

 

Expectations for Students When There Is A Substitute

 

  1. Adhere to all school and class rules.
  2. Remember that you are responsible for your actions.
  3. Do what the substitute asks even if it is different than what is normally done.
  4. Sit where the substitute asks you to sit.
  5. Listen to and follow all instructions, even if you do not want to.
  6. Complete the assignment given to you in a thorough and quiet manner.
  7. Stay in your seat.
  8. Remember that your attitude shapes the attitudes of the people around you.
  9. Your actions reflect not only on yourself, but also on your class, our school, your family and your teacher.
  10. Stay in class unless the office sends for you or you have a genuine emergency.
  11. The sub will not give passes to leave the room so do not ask.
  12. NO food or drink in class, this includes gum and candy.
  13. Leave personal issues with other students at the door, it is not the substitute’s job to play referee.
  14. Remember that just because I am away, does not mean that I do not know what happens.
  15. Any names of people who did not follow these expectations will receive an office referral for insubordination.
