BIO:

I am entering my 27th year in education. I taught Spanish and coached for 19 years at W.B.Travis High School. I also taught Spanish and coached at Ojeda Middle School for 3 years. I’m currently teaching Spanish III and Spanish AP. I attended the University of Texas Advanced Placement Institute this summer and am extremely excited to prepare my AP students for the Advanced Placement Exams. I am honored to serve this year as Department head of Foreign Language. I strive to prepare students to learn the language and use the language as a life skill. I have lead several groups of Spanish students to many competitions, such as: The University of Texas Declamation Poetry Competition, National Spanish Exam and UIL. I am a member of AATSP. ACTFL and AFT. I am beginning my schooling towards a Masters in Education and Administration this coming year. I am a true believer of the phrase ”Sí, se puede” and strive to instill this in my students.
