Del Valle ISD Receives Highest Rating from State Comptroller

Del Valle ISD received the highest rating of 5 Stars from the Comptroller's Financial Allocation Study of Texas (FAST). DVISD was the only school district in the Central Texas region to receive the highest rating and is one of only 45 school districts and charter schools in the state of Texas to receive a total of five stars out of the one to five measure.

The 2009 Texas Legislature directed the Texas Comptroller's office to "identify school districts and campuses that use resource allocation practices that contribute to high academic achievement and cost-effective operations." In response, the agency released its Financial Allocation Study for Texas (FAST) in December 2010. The Comptroller's Financial Allocation Study for Texas (FAST) examines both academic progress and spending at Texas' school districts and campuses. The FAST rating of one to five stars indicates its success in combining cost-effective spending with the achievement of measurable student academic progress. Five stars reflect the strongest relative academic progress combined with the lowest relative spending.

Superintendent Dr. Kelly K. Crook notes, "We have a lot of challenges in Del Valle ISD and incredibly dedicated staff who do whatever it takes for our students to succeed. On the fiscal side, we try to concentrate our limited funds at the campus level. This means extra hours and effort from everyone, but to us it is worth it. I couldn't be prouder for our staff, our Board of Trustees, our parents, and our community!"
