Del Valle ISD - TX > Schools > Mr. James Cruz
05.20.13

My name is James Cruz and I am privileged to serve as one of the assistant principals here at DVMS. I will be working with the 8th grade (Harvard & Columbia) students as well as the 6th grade Cornell team. I am starting my tenth year with DVISD. I served as a Math teacher/Coach for seven years. I spent one year at Dailey Middle School, as a Math Department Chair, and last year I served my first year as an assistant principal here at DVMS.

My years with DVISD have flown by and I have enjoyed every moment. I have seen students through the perspective of a coach, a teacher, and now as an administrator. In all of my educational positions, the one thing that remains the same is that STUDENTS WANT TO LEARN. We as teachers, parents, and administrators must provide the guidance to help students accomplish that.

Throughout the years my expectations for students has not changed. I expect students to reach their highest potential and to take pride in everything they do. I also expect students to participate in class, complete their assignments and respect their peers, their teachers, their family and more importantly themselves. I firmly believe that students who achieve or exceed these expectations will have a successful school year.

I appreciate the opportunity to work with your child this year. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
