Smith Families,‚Äč

Welcome to another school year.  I’m excited about the opportunity to get to know you, and I’m looking forward to a happy and productive school year.  It has been wonderful visiting with some of our new families rezoned to Smith from Baty.  As always, we will do our best to provide all students with learning experiences that will challenge them to become critical thinkers and productive members of our community.  We realize the importance of communication with our parents and encourage your engagement in your child’s education.  One of our initiatives this year will be to develop in every student the love of reading.  We want students to see the benefits of reading and engage them to become life-long readers.  We have activities planned throughout the year to support our efforts and encourage you to attend.  We also want all of our students to RISE to be their best by showing respect, integrity, safety, and excellence in everything they do.  We hope parents will support our efforts by making sure students complete homework daily and attend school regularly and on time.  Together, our commitment to these efforts will assure your child’s success!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Maldonado
